The Company was founded in 1932 by Henk Keulen a farmer's boy from Oosterleek whose main business was the seed production of outside flowers and plants.
Henk Keulen cultivated a lot of outside flower crops like Dahlia, Antirrhinum, but also herbs and many, many other crops where grown and harvested at that time
As the founder of our company Henk Keulen is responsible for our unique position within the seed production branch. By dividing the attention along more than one company SeedCare always had the possibly to spread the high's and low's in seed production over different crops and years.
In 1962 the foundation was set for the current 2 hectare of glasshouses, with a small and simple Glasshouse build out of wood by the local carpenter. Later 1 hectare of wooden glasshouse was added to this first greenhouse.
In 1979 a start was made with the first steel Venlo glasshouse, which was followed by the replacement of the old wooden greenhouses with steel glasshouses by the constructor Smiemans. After this expansion SeedCare really got the taste for building and rebuilding. Within 5 years the whole wooden structure was replaced by the steel type Venlo and later on type Smiemans. The completion of this renovation was in 1990.
Throughout the years not only the exterior was renewed. Also the interior was being upgraded as you can read under the button Facilities.
